  1. Muhammad I. Hassim says:

    Assalaamu Alaikum,

Well done on the new and improved website design, it looks fantastic.

    One suggestion tho’.

I cannot seem to find the ‘current Islamic date’ or a calendar which was so easily visible ont he previous version of your website. Perhaps this could be added to your Home page where the Current Islamic date (or subsequent calendar) can be as easily viewed as the Ramadaan countdown clock.

Jazakallah, May the Almighty prosper you in your endeavours.

  2. Farid says:

    Dear Sir.

Where would I find the Islamic dates?

    Regards,
    Farid.

  3. Abdul Hamid Ismail says:

    Assalaamu Alaikum,

    Alhumdolillah, site looks very good,
Missing the Islamic Calender, please put it back on site.
    Allah reward your efforts.

    Salaams

  4. Mrs. Muhammad says:

Assalaamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahe wa Barakaatuh,
Could someone kindly help me. I wanted to contact Muslim Youth Association
Benoin or Johannesburg Capetown, South Africa. I google to find it online but
was never successful. If ANYONE knows how I can get in touch with them,
it would be insha Allah appreciated!

    Jazak Allah
    Wassalaam

  5. Patel says:

Please can you add a sharing tool/trackback to each article so we can tweet or facebook them. Other than that, it’s a great new design, mashallah!

  6. DAWOOD says:

    Assalaamu Alaikum,

Masha Allah! website looks very good.
1.I would like to suggest the add on of a “Jobs wanted or Jobs offered” column and maybe a small classified section.
2.I would like to bring to your notice,Children that have completed grade7-8 seem to drop off from madressa.I would think possible reasons:
1.Parents not motivating on to madressa
    2.Cant cope
3.Drop out of other Peers so follow the trend

May I suggest, the improvement of the syllabus, including a proper grading of the classes. If a child’s knowledge is improving and sponging year on year, from grade R to grade 12,should we not be adding on new subjects such as,history(deeper level),tafseer e.t.c

    • Ummulhasnaat says:

I agree with you Dawood. I think that we should be looking at a better and more interesting syllabus for our kids. At Ummulhasanaat (www.ummulhasanaat.co.za) we try to do this. We are looking at incorporating Arabic Grammar from Grade 8 as well – very very basic though. The greatest problems we have in Newcastle though is the fact that there are NO madrasah teachers. We struggle to find dedicated teachers and also the fact that parents are not prepared to pay a better salary to these teachers but are prepared to spend huge amounts of money on tertiary education. A teacher at a school earns nothing under R10K but a normal Appa is expected to be happy with a measly R1K. Yet the Appa is the one who is teaching DEEN. No wonder the kids are not interested – its because the parents aren’t in the first place. Cant miss soccer practice but can miss madrasah.

  7. Adam Patel says:

Assalaamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh,

Alhumdulillah, it is great to see the Jamiat website up and running. The website looks amazing and Insha Allah it will accomplish its intended purpose.May Allah Ta’ala reward you all for the efforts that you have put in in making this site a success. Keep it UP!!!

  8. Mr buckas says:

How is it humanely possible to physically see the moon for Ramadaan 2012 in Arabia when according to Muslim expert astronomers it is impossible to be seen both with equipment and eyes except an area in Polynesia on Thursday night. Are they following the calculation method but lying about physical sighting with naked eyes. Or are the calculation wrong?Kindly enlighten us.
    Salaams rasheed.

  9. Mahmood says:

Please send word to the organisers of the Eid Gah at the Durban stadium to turn down the sound volume.

During previous Eids, the sound has been carrying right across the North Beach area and must irritate the thousands of residents there. As the sound carries so far, I can only imagine how loud it must be at the venue.

It is against the laws of the land and un-Islamic to create any noise pollution that has the potential to cause discomfort to anyone around, especially if that can affect the health of that person.

    Thank you.
