‘Islamophobia’ existed from the very time of Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam. The mushrikeen of Makkah left no stone unturned in their efforts to stop the spread of Islam. They would sit on the outskirts of Makkah intercepting travellers, poisoning the minds of the pilgrims to the holy land against Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam and the beautiful Deen of Islam.
‘Islamophobia’ cult has existed throughout the different ages of Islam. The enemies of Islam presented it in different forms in an endeavour to extinguish the flame of Islam. They will never succeed as Allah gives the assurance:
“They (the non-believers) conspired to extinguish the Noor of Allah while Allah will complete (make perfect) his Noor (i.e. his deen) even though the non-believers detest it.”
Students of History know well that the Christian Church and their kings had launched a series of crusade wars against the Muslims. This was nothing but ‘Islamophobia’. Nowadays, we notice that the strategy has changed. First it was the ‘cartoon’ then the ‘fitnah film’ and now the book ‘the Jewel of Madinah.’ All of these are ‘Islamophobia’ with a dual objective:
1. To stereotype Muslims, like the Nazis did to the Jews before the onslaught.
2. To prevent the spread of Islam, the puritanical teachings of which are attracting thousands into the fold annually.
‘Islamophobia’ created by the politicians cannot be dispelled by means of Interfaith Dialogue with a few priests of different religions since they are not the architects of it. ‘Islamophobia’ is not the product of misunderstanding. It is a deliberate conspiracy to eliminate Islam and to grab the wealth of Muslims.
Our beloved Nabi’s Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam policy was not to fight against ‘Islamophobia’ by engaging in Interfaith Dialogues but it was to boldly preach the truth by word and deed. Therefore, participation in Interfaith Dialogues is incorrect. In fact the pious Ulama have classified participation in Interfaith Dialogues as a sin. ‘Islamophobia’ could be vigorously fought by every single Muslim by ensuring that our dealings and conduct with the non-believers attract them to Islam. The employer should treat his employees with respect, kindness and justice. The Muslim employee working for a non-Muslim should ensure that he is honest and fulfils his Amaanah i.e. the trust outlined in one’s job description. Remember actions speak louder than words. Finally, participation in Interfaith Dialogue means accepting that:
1. All religions have equal legitimacy.
2. No religion (even Islam) is the absolute truth.
Accepting any of the above two which are the cardinal principles of Interfaith Dialogue, renders one out of the fold of Islam. May Allah protect the Imaan of all Muslims and may He save us from the schemes and plots of our enemies.
