All praise to Allah Ta’ala, the Jamiatul Ulama KZN Skills Development Centre (SDC) was officially opened on Wednesday, 08 November 2017 by Hazrat Moulana Haroon Abasoomar, a Senior Aalim of South Africa and an Executive member of the Jamiatul Ulama KZN.

This initiative started off on a small scale three years ago at our Welfare Department, which is located in the Durban CBD.

Alhamdulillah, it has now evolved to a fully-fledged centre in the hub of Overport, which is centrally located and is easily accessible by public transport.

The new modern premises features a more aesthetically pleasing and conducive environment for learning with excellent equipment and facilities.

  • Culinary Skills
  • Islamic Education
  • Micro Business Management

  • Time Management
  • Financial Budgeting
  • Arts & Crafts

  • Current challenges faced by young women
  • Frail care training

We are highly ambitious that the SDC will become a centre of excellence that will provide skills training and life empowerment to our cosmopolitan community, Insha-Allah.
