Performing Istikharah for another

Q. Can I ask someone to do Istikharah on my behalf or should I do Istikharah on my own?

(There may be grammatical and spelling errors in the above question. Questions are published as received)

A. The Sunnah method is to do Istikharah on your own. There is no basis in the Sunnah for requesting someone else (eg; a pious person) to do Istikharah on one’s behalf. Istikhara is a personal matter that is largely dependent on one’s personal inclination.
