Alhamdo-Lillah, through the Grace of Allah Ta’ala our learners successfully completed the Jamiat KZN 3 month skills empowerment and training course.
In recognition of their achievement and to grant the students a sense of accomplishment, the Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. team organised a graduation for the learners, which was held on 14th December 2015 at our skills workshop.
The programme started with a dua by each of the students followed by an introduction to the course. The students were given an opportunity to say a few words about their experiences throughout the skills programme. This was very emotional as the students were speaking from their hearts. They expressed their gratitude to the Jamiat KZN for providing them with this opportunity. It was very touching indeed to note their achievements and how they have grown and progressed as human beings. At the beginning of this journey they would sit in class with their heads bowed down, avoiding eye contact as they felt they were inferior because of their low self-esteem. The students themselves were astonished at their own holistic progress, from not knowing how to hold a needle to becoming empowered and skilled individuals. The students expressed the fact of how they were treated and taught with dignity, which motivated them towards their newfound success.
THE Newlands East Senior Citizens were also very grateful to the Jamiat KZN and are looking forward to more group sessions next year, as this provides them with an escape from their troubled lives.
The turnout of guests was surprisingly full to capacity with over 50 women in attendance, which consisted mainly of the students, their families, and PROJECT H.E.L.P. volunteers.
The students’ families, volunteers, and guests were astonished at how much the students had achieved in the 3-month period. They applauded Jamiat KZN for creating this opportunity and for such a wonderful Jalsa.
All praise goes to Allah Ta’ala for the success of this Skills Workshop. We had a vision of creating complete human beings by providing a holistic service throughout the duration of this skills empowerment programme and Subhanallah we have achieved success. May ALLAH Ta’ala continue to guide us in our endeavours to be of service to humanity, Aameen.
Certificates and gifts from the volunteers were presented to the students.
The Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. team surprised the students by sponsoring each of them with a brand-new sewing machine, hoping, Insha-Allah, that this will empower them to start a home industry to help them become financially self-sufficient. Each of the students was ecstatic to receive this gift. The Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. team did not forget our senior citizens group and each one of them were presented with gifts as well.
The Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. team also provided a freshly prepared lunch served with cool drinks and followed by tea and biscuits.
A vote of thanks from each of the students was directed towards the Jamiat KZN, its donors, and volunteers.
The Jamiat KZN’s heartfelt appreciation & a special thanks goes to Apa Shaida Kader, who taught the students with dedication and compassion and managed the entire Skills Workshop programme with meticulousness and diligence.
All her assistance to the Jamiat KZN was rendered completely voluntarily. May Allah Ta’ala accept all her efforts and grant her the best of rewards in this world and the Aakhirah. A special appreciation and acknowledgement needs to go to volunteer Apa Nasreen Cotwal for her invaluable assistance.
We make dua that Allah Ta’ala accepts this humble effort, especially the contributions of our donors and the efforts of all involved, Aameen.
