Project H.E.L.P – St. Michaels Women’s Hostel

Since August 2017 was declared National Women’s Month, the Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. relief team, in an attempt to highlight the plight of destitute and abused woman, assisted the St Michaels Women’s Hostel which is situated in Sydenham, Durban.

The hostel provides a safe-haven and comfort to women in need and victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse. Their goal is to provide a single facility offering shelter, information and resources to enable these women to address their situations and receive support on how to improve them. Counselling, legal services, education and life skills are some of the services provided by the hostel’s management.

During its  routine inspection of the hostel, the team discovered that one of the hostel’s most immediate needs was for cupboards, since most of the existing cupboards were damaged due to a borer infestation.

Alhamdulillah, the PROJECT H.E.L.P. relief team delivered 20 double door steel cupboards to the hostel, which was received with much appreciation by the residents.

May Allah Ta’ala use our humble efforts as a means of attracting them towards Imaan and Islam. May He accept the contributions of our donors and the efforts of all involved, Aameen.
