The Jamiatul Ulama KZN has once again, responded to the needs of the recent victims of the
xenophobic attacks being housed at the Isipingo Beach refugee camp.
On Monday, April 20th 2015, Project H.E.L.P (initiative of the Jamiatul Ulama KZN) provided lunch to over 600 displaced victims at the camp. Men, women and children of all faiths were provided with a hot meal consisting of rice and chicken, which was greatly appreciated by both the victims and even the local municipal councillors, for the pleasing change from their daily diet consisting mainly of pap (mealie meal) and gravy.
It was noted that since our first distribution on Friday 10th April, the numbers at the Isipingo Beach Camp have sadly increased from 300 to almost a 1000!
Dr Hashi of Gift of the Givers assisted the H.E.L.P. relief team, with the coordination and the
distribution of the lunch, which we are greatly appreciative of.
The Muallimas and learners of Madrasah Sawelehaat prepared the meals.
May Allah Ta’ala accept everyone’s efforts and reward all abundantly.
