Nasihah (Advice): The best friend and the best neighbour
“The best of friends in the sight of Allah is the one who acts best towards his friend. The best of neighbours in the sight of Allah is the one who acts best towards his neighbour.” (Tirmizi)
Q. Can someone please advise if qurbani meat or any part of the animal be fed to a dog?(Question published as received)
A. The Qurbaani meat is hospitality extended from Allah Ta`ala. Respect requires that we appreciate it. It is therefore not advisable to feed the dog such meat.
Q. While I understand that one should not feed the dog the meat that could be cooked and eaten oneself, a respected Aalim once said that it is better to give the Qurbani bones to a dog (after having eaten the meat off the bones) than to throw it away or to bury it.
(Question published as received)
A. Whilst it is not advisable to feed a dog the Qurbani meat, there is nothing wrong in giving the left overs (the bones/unwanted fat etc) to the dogs.
