Folding the Musalla after Salaah?

Nasihah:  There are certain moments during the day when a person’s Duas are accepted:

Sayyiduna Muhammed bin Maslamah al-Ansari (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that the Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

“Indeed, there are certain moments during the day that are special to Allah, so be prepared for them. Perhaps you will be struck with one of these special moments and you will never be unfortunate thereafter again” (al-Mu’jam al-Kabir by Tabrani, Hadith #: 519)

Question and Answer:

Q. Is it true that after praying on the Musalla, you should fold it and not leave it open. If it is left open, Shaitaan comes to read namaz on the Musalla

(Query published as received)

A. There is no truth to this. Shaitaan does not pray Salaah. The Musalla (prayer mat) may be left open after praying or it may be folded. Yes, as a mark of respect, if it is feared that the Musalla will be soiled due to being left open, it should rather be folded and kept away respectfully.

Nasihah: Feeding one’s spouse is a form of Sadaqah for which one will be rewarded:

Sayyiduna Sa’ad bin Abi Waqqas (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that the Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whatever you spend seeking the pleasure of Allah, you will be rewarded for it no matter how little and insignificant it may seem; even if it is a morsel that you feed your wife.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith #: 56)

Question and Answer:

Q. There were a few playstation competitions that took place recently, where you pay a fee to enter the competition and you compete against each other in a game, and the winner gets prize money, is this permissible ?

(Query published as received)

A. It is not permissible for Muslims to participate in such competitions due to the element of gambling. In these types of competitions, a sum of money is paid in lieu of an unknown return which is tantamount to gambling.
