Our Request to the Public in respect of the 2023 Marriage Bill
Assalaamu alaykum.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The proposed new Marriage Act will have a drastic, invasive and long- lasting impact on the Muslim community. A copy of the bill can be accessed here.
At present, the Department of Home Affairs has called for comments on the draft Bill. The closing date of submissions is 31 August 2023.
The Jamiatul Ulama KZN has made a submission, a copy of which can be accessed here: Submission on Marriage Bill_230822_155642
