Performing Istikharah for another

Q. Can I ask someone to do Istikharah on my behalf or should I do Istikharah on my own?

A. The Sunnah method is to do Istikharah on your own. There is no basis in the Sunnah for requesting someone else (eg; a pious person) to do Istikharah on one’s behalf. Istikhara is a personal matter that is largely dependent on one’s personal inclination.
