By the Grace of Allah Ta’ala, on Thursday 16th May 2019, the Jamiatul Ulama KZN Project H.E.L.P. relief team once again had the pleasure of serving the community of Lacey Road Informal Settlement, one of many informal settlements in Overport, Durban. An appeal was made to the Jamiat to assist the settlement which had suffered greatly after the recent storms and flooding that affected Durban and surrounding areas.
Residents were given a hamper comprising of groceries and a blanket to help keep warm during these cold winter nights. A hot meal and a refreshing bottle of water were given to all present from the area.
The team also visited a home based Maktab in Bonella, where approximately 50 children between the ages of 7-11 attend from the local informal settlement. The children were provided a hot meal and bottled water. The Maktab is held under a carport due to space constraints, yet Alhamdulillah these children are attend regularly and are extremely enthusiastic to learn Deen.”
‘Jazakallah Khairan, may Allah always continue to bless and reward you in abundance and may He help you the way you help us and so many others. May each and every single one of your Ibaadah and and Duas be accepted. Shukran Jazeelan.’ ~ (A Muallima from the Maktab)
May Allah Ta’ala use our humble efforts as a means of attracting people towards Islam and may He accept the contributions of our donors and the efforts of all involved, in this blessed month of Ramadhan. Aameen.
