Animals are mentioned in the Quraan in various contexts. In many verses, Allah draws man’s attention to animals so that man may observe, study and reflect upon Allah’s magnificence and power. For example, Allah Ta’ala mentions milk and honey as products of the animal kingdom which point to Allah’s greatness. Similarly camels, horses and mules are mentioned. They are used as conveyances and to transport goods. These are bounties of Allah for which gratitude needs to be expressed.
The variety of animals and their intricate systems can only be the creation of the One and Only Supreme being, Allah Ta’ala. Just as a beautiful painting points to the skill of the painter, the magnificence of the animal kingdom points to the power and grandeur of their creator.
