Jordan and Palestine are places rich in Islamic history. Lands with great virtue, barkat and blessings. Allah Ta’ala Himself, in the Qur-aan has called it, “The land which we have blessed its surroundings.”
Once Rasulullah (ﷺ) said to his Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum), “How wonderful is Shaam!” The Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) asked, “Why is that?” Rasulullah (ﷺ) replied, “I see the angels of Allah Ta’ala spreading their wings over Shaam.”
Since many Muslims visit Masjidul Aqsa, it would be beneficial to note down the history and virtues of each site as this will make the trip more meaningful for the visitor. Knowing the virtues of each place will most definitely increase the value of the noble journey and create love and respect in the heart of the visitors.
Among the many virtues of Baitul Muqaddas are:
- It was the land of many Ambiyaa (alaihimus salaam) – They were born there, lived there, struggled for Islam there, passed away there and were also buried there.
- Masjidul Aqsa was the first Qiblah
- Nabi (ﷺ) together with all the Ambiyaa (alaihimus salaam) performed Salaah together there.
- Many Sahabah (radiyallahu anhum) migrated there, passed away there and were buried there
