The Blessing of a Disabled Child

Allah tests a person in different ways. Sometimes he is afflicted by a calamity within himself and sometimes it is due to a calamity or misfortune of a close family member.

One of the most difficult situations a parent can face is to have a handicapped child. A child could be born with a deformity or he could develop some handicap later on. Some children are born blind, deaf, dumb, without hands, with deformed limbs, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and a host of other defects.

Others are born perfectly normal but are later afflicted with some kind of handicap. This is all in the control of Allah. In the light of the difficult situation the parent is faced with, this booklet was prepared as a guideline and consolation for such parents of disabled children.
