The gaze in Salaah

read time: 1 minute
Q. I am confused about where I should fixate my gaze in Salaah when standing. Someone told me I should look down at my feet and I heard from another person that I should look at the spot where I will be making Sajdah. Which is correct?

A. When you are standing in Salaah, it is recommended that your gaze be fixed on the spot where you will be making Sajdah. Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said to him: “O Anas, fix your gaze on the spot where you will be making Sajdah” (Bayhaqi, Hadith #: 3545)
