What Happens After Death

We have firm faith and conviction that whichever human being comes into the world will definitely have to leave it some day. There is a very long life waiting for him in the grave and, thereafter, it is the Day of Qiyaamah.  On that mighty day we will have to give account of our deeds and our fate will be decided. The result of the reckoning will be that some people will go to Jannah while others will be sent to Jahannam. There is no place more comfortable and enjoyable than Jannah, and there is no place where hardships and torment are more severe than Jahannam.

May we be sacrificed for the Beloved Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) who informed the whole of mankind about death and everything that comes after it. He gave us detailed information about the grave, resurrection, reckoning, as well as the intense consternation of the Day of Qiyaamah. He (صلى الله عليه وسلم) also gave us a detailed description of the bounties of Jannah and the merciless punishments of Jahannam. In addition, He (صلى الله عليه وسلم) also enumerated those deeds that would become a source of peace and tranquillity after our death and also those deeds that would become a source of Allah’s (سبحانه وتعالى) wrath and anger.
