Dajjal Will Not Be Allowed To Enter Four Masjids

Question

I came across this hadith, and would like to know:

Is this Hadith authentic? Does it mean that Masjidul Aqsa will be protected from Dajjal i.e. that he cannot enter it?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“I have been warning you about Dajjal who has one abraded eye.” [The narrators] said: I think he said the left eye. “He will have with him mountains of bread and rivers of water, and his sign will stay in the earth for forty mornings. His authority will reach everywhere. He will not come to four Masjids: the Ka’bah, the Masjid Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), Masjidul Aqsa and the Masjid of al-Tur [Sinai]…”

Answer

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith as part of a longer Hadith in his Musnad on the authority of Sayyiduna Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 5 pg. 364, Hadith: 23090 and vol. 5 pg. 434, Hadith: 23683)

Hafiz Ibn Hajar and ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahumallah) have declared the narrators reliable.

(Fathul Bari, Hadith: 7133, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 7 pg. 343, Hadith: 12560)

The Hadith clearly states that Dajjal will not enter the four Masjids. It would therefore be correct to say that Dajjal will not enter Masjidul Aqsa.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
