Filth of Social media and the Internet

Shaikh Zulfiqaar Ahmed Naqshbandi.

In this era, filth on the media has become prevalent in society. It is so shameful that my heart does not desire to discuss this subject.

Statistics analysts inform us that every four hours a shameless video is uploaded on to the internet.

Amongst internet users, 35% are women watching shameless videos.

Emails that are sent out on a daily basis, 2.5 billion pertain to sexual activity.

66% of divorces that take place is due to spouses addiction to viewing porn as they are not satisfied with each other and this leads to problems starting in their marriage life.

There are three stages to porn addiction similar to drug addiction:

1. Desensitization: A person watching porn initially feels guilty but later on it becomes routine in his or her life.

2. Acceptance: This lead to acceptance and justification ultimately.

3. Distortion: a person now feels that it is a norm & part and parcel of life ,without which life is impossible.

This is the wisdom why Islam has prohibited us from all sorts of shameless acts. Those who wish to get themselves connected with Allah Ta’ala should consider internet as their enemies.

Of course there are cases for its permissible use like business and other such necessities.

As for ‘Facebook’, Moulana was informed that within five minutes of signing in, na Mahram (strange) womens’ pictures appear, therefore there can be no justification for utilizing and accessing Facebook.

Therefore those who desire to get close to Allah Ta’ala should refrain from this dirty media. This could be the reason why many people strive to spiritually uplift themselves but are unable to do so. May Allah Ta’ala protect us.

The end result of this filthy media leads to divorces in marriages which in turn lead to depression and ultimately to suicide.

Moulana finally offers some advices and guidelines for porn addicts:

They should strengthen their willpower (self discipline). By strengthening ones willpower one will be able to continue working on the internet due to necessity but will resist visiting sites which are shameless. Those whose willpower is weak will automatically visit such shameless sites.

The way to strength ones resolve:

1. Excessive remembrance of Allah Ta’ala.
2. Sitting in the company of the pious.
3.Physical exercise
4.Having sufficient sleep @ night.
6.Meditation (Muraqaba)

Allah Ta’ala grant us all the ability to practice on Hazrat’s advices.

Durood Shareef:

عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم من قال جزى الله عنا محمدا بما هو أهله أتعب سبعين كاتبا ألف صباح (الطبراني في الأوسط رقم 235 )
Hadhrat Ibn Abbaas (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever recites (the following Durood), then Allah Ta’ala will tire seventy angels (to continue writing reward for the reciter) for one thousand days.

جَزَى اللهُ عَنَّا مُحَمَّدًا مَّا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ
May Allah Ta’ala reward Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) on our behalf such a reward that he is worthy of.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)’s Love for his Ummah

It has been recorded in ‘Mawaahib Ladunniya’ from ‘Tafseer Qushairy’ that on the day of Judgement a believer shall appear for reckoning with a small measure of righteous deeds. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) shall appear and place on the side of the righteous deeds a small piece of paper that will be the size of the tip of one’s finger. The result will be that the scale of good deeds will far outweigh the evil deeds. Seeing this, the believer will exclaim, “May my mother and father be sacrificed for your sake, who are you? How beautiful is your physical appearance, and how sublime is your conduct.”

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) shall answer: “Verily I am your Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). This which I have placed on your scale is the salaat and salaam that you used to recite upon me during your lifetime. Now I have come to your aid and assistance at your time of need.”
