Nasihah (Advice): Altering one’s appearance
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood radiyallahu anhu said: ‘May Allah curse women who do tattoos and those who have tattoos done, women who have their eyebrows plucked, and women who file teeth for the purpose of beautification, (thereby) changing the creation of Allah.’ News of that reached a woman of Banu Asad who was called Umm Ya’qoob. She came to him and said: What is this that I have heard about you cursing such-and-such and such-and-such? Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood radiyallahu anhu said: ‘Why should I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cursed?’ (Sahih Bukhari)

Question and Answer:
- Q. What is the ruling regarding lash extensions?
(Question published as received)
- As per the information at our disposal, the adhesive used for lash extensions waterproofs the lash. Accordingly, Ghusl and Wudhu will not be valid with such extensions. [Tahtaawi pg. 61]
