Platinum Rings

Question and Answer:

  1. Are men and women allowed to wear platinum rings?

  1. In principle, a man is only allowed to wear silver rings, the weight of which should not exceed one Mithqal (approximately 4.374 g). Rings made from any other metals are not permissible for males. Therefore, it will not be permissible for a man to wear a platinum ring. (Shaami)

A woman is only allowed to wear rings that are made from silver or gold. Hence, it will not be permissible for her to wear platinum rings as well.  (Majmaul-Anhur)
