The Jamiatul Ulama KZN received an appeal for assistance from the principal of the S.M. Jhavary Primary School based in Clare Estate, Durban. The principal informed us that many of the pupils residing in the nearby Kennedy Road informal settlement, which was recently ravaged by fire, are in dire need of warm clothing and food with many pupils attending school on hungry stomachs.
On Tuesday June 24, 2014 a relief team from the Jamiatul Ulama KZN offices visited the school and distributed woollen hats, woollen gloves, meat parcels and grocery hampers which consisted of the following items:

- 1 x 5kg rice
- 1 x 5kg beans
- 1 x 5kg sugar
- 2 x tin fish
- 2 x bake beans
- 1 x tea bags
- 1 x powder milk
- 1 x jam
- 1 x peanut butter
- 1 x doz. Eggs
- 1 x 2L cooking oil
- 5 x 750g Soup Packs
In total 90 Families were assisted. We make Dua that Allah Ta’ala accepts this contribution and continuously uses us for the service of His creation.
