20 Recent Photos of Masjid Al Haram’s Expansion Works

Here are 20 recent photos showing the expansion works taking place at the Masjid Al Haram in Makkah. It is the Mosque’s biggest and most ambitious expansion project in its history and work is currently in its third phase. The porticos from the Ottoman era are now being re instated after they were taken down in order to expand the Mataf. Upon completion, the Mataf’s capacity should increase to 105,000 pilgrims an hour.
