- Can food or furniture be bought with Zakaat money and given as Zakaat to a Zakaat recipient?
(Question published as received)
- Zakaat may be discharged in both cash and kind. It is also permissible for one to purchase food, furniture or any other item with Zakaat money and give it as Zakaat to a recipient who is worthy of accepting Zakaat.
In this way, the Zakaat will be discharged. (Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah 9/479)
