Nasihah (Advice): The reward of Qurbani
Sayyidatuna A’aisha Radiyallahu anha reported that Rasulullah Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “There is nothing dearer to Allah during the days of Qurbani than the sacrificing of animals. The sacrificed animal shall come on the Day of Qiyamah with its horns, hair, and hooves (to be weighed on a person’s good deeds). The sacrifice is accepted by Allah before the blood reaches the ground. Therefore sacrifice with an open and happy heart.” [Sunan Tirmidhi]

Question and Answer:
- If one has not done Aqeeqah for one’s child yet, can one do it and combine the intention of Aqeeqah with Qurbani on the day of Eid?
(Question published as received)
- It is permissible to carry out the act of Qurbani and Aqeeqah during the days of Eid. However, it is not permissible to combine the intention of Qurbani and Aqeeqah in one share of a Qurbani animal. It would be necessary to separate the shares of Qurbani and Aqeeqah for it to be valid.
More so, if one does not have the financial means to do both, then if Qurbani is compulsory on a person, the act of Qurbani must be carried out during the days of Eid and the act of Aqeeqah may be done at a later stage.
