Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “One of the worst people in the sight of Allah on the day of Resurrection will be a person who engages in conjugal relations with his wife and she with him and he then discloses this secret of hers.” (Muslim)

Q. What is the ruling of intercourse during pregnancy? Some say it is okay and others say it is harmful to the mother and child? Please explain?

1. Conjugal relations during pregnancy is based on the wellbeing of the mother and the child in the womb. If there is a fear of harm to the mother or child, it should be refrained. If there is no harm, conjugal relationship is permissible.

If in doubt, medical advice should be sought whether harm is likely or not.
