Question:
Assalamo alaikum. I would like to know whether it is permissible to find out the sex of the baby during pregnancy.
Answer:
This is not encouraged. Nevertheless, it is permissible on condition that:
a) The procedure is not harmful to the mother or the fetus.
b) One does not place complete faith in the predictions of the report on the gender of the child. The absolute knowledge of that is known to Allah alone.
