Q. Please advise and provide the reason/s why it is not permissible for a person to dye their hair black.

A. The hadeeth prohibits the same. Refer to Abu Dawood Shareef. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “There will be people who will come later (in my Ummah) and apply black dye, who will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.” (Abu Dawood)
