Nasihah (Advice): The hujjaaj are the delegation of Allah Ta’ala
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Those who perform Hajj and ‘Umrah are the delegation of Allah. If they ask, they are granted. If the call unto Allah in du’a, their du’as are answered. If they spend, they will be replaced…” (Shu’abul Iman)

Question and Answer
- Q. What is Ifraad, Qiraan and Tamattu’ in Hajj?
- A. There are three ways in which one can perform the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj: Ifraad, Qiraan and Tamattu’.
Ifraad is when a pilgrim enters the state of Ihraam with the intention of only performing Hajj, without performing Umrah, in a single journey.
Qiraan is when the pilgrim enters Ihraam with the intention of performing both Umrah and Hajj with a single Ihraam, in the same journey to the sacred lands. This means that after performing Umrah, the person remains in the state of Ihram until the performance of Hajj.
As for Tamattu’, this refers to a pilgrim first performing Umrah during the months of Hajj, exiting the state of Ihraam, and then re-entering Ihraam later to perform the rites of Hajj, all within the same journey. Umrah and Hajj are performed with two separate Ihraams. (Tahtaawi 739)
