How SA Muslims voted in Elections 2014

ANC-versus-DA

Cii News | 12 May 2014/12 Rajab 1435

Final results for Elections 2014 were announced in Pretoria on Saturday with the ANC once again being granted an overwhelming mandate to govern South Africa. The DA retained its position as official opposition, securing 22% of the vote, and the fledgling EFF made a strong showing earning 6% of the national vote.

As visible and active players within South African social life, Muslims, spurred on by their leaders, also played an active role in the elections. But, where did the votes of this estimated 3% of the nation go to. Cii Radio got its correspondents doing the number crunching on areas with significant Muslim populations and this is what they found.
