Is it permissible for men to wear silver rings with titanium?

Nasihah (Advice): A tent in Paradise

Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Ibn Abdullah Ibn Qais reported on the authority of his father that Rasullah sallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “In Paradise there would be a tent made of a single hollowed pearl, the breadth of which would be sixty miles from all sides and there would live a family in each corner and the other would not be able to see the believer who lives around them.” (Sahih Muslim)

Question and Answer:

  1. If a ring is made of silver but it has a portion of titanium in it, is it permissible for a man to wear it?

(Question published as received)

  1. The major content of a ring determines whether or not it is classified as a silver ring. Thus, if a silver ring contains more than 50% of silver and a small content of titanium, for e.g. 60% silver and 40% titanium, it would be permissible for a man to wear the ring provided that the silver content does not exceed 4.374 grams(Hidaayah 1/102)
