Nasihah (Advice): The pleasure and displeasure of one’s parents
Sayyiduna Abdullah Bin Umar Radhiyallahu Anhuma reports that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said,“The pleasure of Allah lies in the pleasure of the parent. The anger of Allah lies in the anger of the parent.” (Al-Adabul Mufrad)

Question and Answer:
- A father 58 years and mother 53 years have been accredited to go for Hajj. However due to the limited Financial means they are unable to go. Their son 28 years has also been accredited In the second round of accreditation the wishes to go for Hajj. Is it the sons responsibility to first send his parents ?

- The financial responsibility of one’s parents includes the necessities of life such as shelter, food and clothing. (Shaami 3/571)
It does not include sending one’s parents for Hajj. However, if one does so, it would be of great reward and a form of goodwill towards one’s parents, which is encouraged in Shariah.
