As Salaamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu
The Jamiatul Ulama KZN team distributed aid to the Syrian Refugees who have been displaced to the Southern towns of Turkey, namely Reyhanli & Kilis.
Despite the efforts of numerous relief organisations (including the Jamiatul Ulama KZN), the situation remains dire, with almost 4 million refugees seeking refuge in camps, shelters, homes and some even taking to the streets.
The team has observed a very sad state, with many refugees still functioning without the basic food and medical needs.
Amongst the refugees are women who have been widowed, children who have been orphaned and men who have sustained major injuries from the war.
While the efforts of the local and international communities cannot be commended enough, the need continues with no resolution to the conflict in sight.
The team has conducted several home visits and besides the basic food needs, the team has also distributed:
- Baby foods
- Grocery Hampers
- Fridge Freezers
Due to the generosity of our donors, the team has assisted first hand with rental assistance, to provide some financial ease to families residing on the border.
The support being provided has only been possible by the Grace of Allah Ta’ala and we acknowledge the generosity of the Muslim Community locally and internationally. We thank each and every donor who has contributed to this most worthy and deserving cause.
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir Radhiyallahu Anhu reported that the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said, “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.” [Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Aid is collected for this cause throughout the year, whether Zakaat, Lillah or Sadaqah and we appeal to you to help and assist this cause.
No contribution is insignificant or too small, every rand and cent is appreciated!
