Question and Answer:
- Q. If a person wakes up 10 minutes before Sunrise and needs to perform Ghusal and let’s say that person takes 15/20 minutes to perform Gusal, and they know 100% that they won’t make it for fajar salaah before sunrise, what is the ruling and what must this person do?
(Question published as received)
- There is no excuse for a person who wakes up 10 minutes before Fajr to miss their Salaah when water is at one’s immediate disposal.
Generally speaking, hot water is immediately available in one’s bathroom. Completion of a Fardh Ghusl in a shower which is to rinse the mouth and nostrils, wash off any impurities and ensure the entire body is wet takes 1-2 minutes. The Fajr Salaah must be performed thereafter.
Soaping the entire body, using shampoo, conditioner, etc. can be done after the Fajr Salaah is performed.
If a person does not have immediate access to water then he would have to make Qadha for the Salaah upon completion of the Ghusl.
