Nephews inheriting the estate?

read time: 1 minute

Nasihah:  Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’oud (Radiyallahu Anhu) used to say: “Whenever you pray Salaah, you are knocking on the door of the King (Allah) and whoever continues knocking on the door of the king, it will eventually be opened for him”

Question and Answer:

Q. I have no children, my wife and parents are late. I have four brothers who are alive. One of my brothers has passed away and left behind children. I want to know if his children will inherit from my estate?

(Query published as received)

A. The children of your predeceased brother will not inherit from your estate in the event of you being survived by a brother(s). Your surviving brothers will inherit your estate if there are no other eligible heirs.
