Alhamdulillah, on 28th November 2018, the Jamiatul Ulama KZN Project H.E.L.P team together with CSN(Caring Sisters Network) visited the Chatsworth Regional Hospice in Silverglen.

The hospice is an NGO (non-profit organization) which doesn’t receive any funding or financial assistance from the government but rather relies entirely on donations and fund raising. The hospice assists people from the surrounding area suffering with cancer and H.I.V.

There are currently 65 cancer patients that are assisted on a daily basis. Six terminally ill cancer patients are live-in patients. Many of them don’t have any family support, therefore we felt it important to visit them and offer them some moral and financial support. This was the practise of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam, who in various Ahadith, enumerated the virtue and importance of visiting the sick.

A total of 70 Hampers where distributed. May Allah Ta’ala accept our humble efforts and ease the suffering of the ill.
