Project H.E.L.P Report – April 2021

  1. Molweni Ramadaan Hamper Drive

Molweni is a suburb adjoining Wyebank in the greater Durban area. Due to the area being difficult to access, support for the underprivileged is often lacking. After receiving a request from the local Imaam in the area, the Project H.E.L.P team visited the area and distributed food hampers to the local residents.

The recipients and their families expressed immense gratitude upon receiving their hampers. The team was humbled by the warmth, respect and appreciation the recipients and their families showed.

  1. Umlazi Feeding Project

The Jamiatul Ulama KZN has initiated a weekly feeding programme for the underprivileged residents of Durban and surrounding areas. Alhamdullilah, hot meals and bottled water are provided with the assistance of volunteers.

  1. Newlands Ramadaan Hamper Drive

An appeal was made to the Jamiat to assist the community with hampers for the blessed month of Ramadaan. By the grace of Allah Ta’ala, on Monday 12th April 2021, the Ulama Project H.E.L.P team once again had the pleasure of serving the community of Newlands and distributed hampers to its residents. Alhamdulillah, the community was very grateful for the assistance rendered.

A request was also received from from the Rabiyyah Basriyyah Madrassah (also based in Newlands), for the students of the madrasah. Alhamdulillah, 60 hampers were distributed which were very well received by the recipients.

  1. School Sanitization Drive

The Project H.E.L.P team has embarked on a drive to provide schools with sanitizers as well as masks. Should any schools require sanitizers and masks they should contact the Jamiat Head Office. Please note that supply is limited.

The Jamiatul Ulama KZN acknowledges and appreciates the support received from its well-wishers, donors and volunteers, without whom and the grace of Allah Ta’ala, these projects would not be possible. May Allah Ta’ala grant them and their families Barakah, accept our efforts and ease the challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah, Ameen.
