Project H.E.L.P  – S.M. Jhavary School Shirt Distribution

By the grace of Allah Ta’ala, the Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. relief team continues with its school uniform drive to assist underprivileged learners and recently visited the S.M. Jhavary Primary School, located in Clare Estate. Most of the learners at this poor school are residents at the Kennedy Road informal settlement.

Alhamdullilah, on Wednesday 23rd  February 2017, the Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. relief team distributed 1,200 school shirts to every male learner from grade RR to grade 7 after the school’s morning assembly. The team were eagerly assisted by the principal and teachers.

Many of the students come from poverty-stricken homes and do not even possess a school uniform to wear. Let alone that, the school has arranged for a breakfast of porridge every morning as many of the pupils do not even have food to eat, and come to school on an empty stomach!

A very heart-warming moment was when we distributed lollipops to the children in the younger grades.

This may seem trivial to many of us who can easily afford these simple items and buy them for our children whenever they want. But to those small children who have to suffice with basic meals, just to have the taste of a few sweets brought them such unexplainable joy and happiness.

May Allah Ta’ala use our humble efforts as a means of attracting them towards Imaan and Islam and may He accept the contributions of our donors and the efforts of all involved, Aameen.
