PROJECT H.E.L.P – Wheelchair Distribution & Operation Storm Relief

Alhamdulillah with the mercy and blessings of Allah Ta’ala the Jamiatul Ulama KZN Project H.E.L.P Team visited the southern suburbs of Durban to distribute wheelchairs to the underprivileged.

On Thursday 28th November 2019 seven wheelchairs together with food hampers were given to individuals who are physically disabled. The recipients expressed immense gratitude and were amazed by the compassion displayed by the Muslim community towards individuals irrespective of their race, religion or physical ability.

On Monday 2nd December 2019 the Project H.E.L.P Team and volunteers visited a storm damaged home in Amaoti. Due to the recent heavy winds and rain, the structural wall was washed away with the roof collapsing. This resulted in the death of both parents leaving behind their two daughters. Condolences were offered to the bereaved family and hampers were also given.

The following items were distributed on the day:

  • Food Hampers containing sugar, rice, oil, canned food & long life milk
  • New Clothing
  • Bottled Drinking Water

The Jamiatul Ulama KZN thanks its donors and sponsors for entrusting us in uplifting and assisting the underprivileged. May Allah Ta’ala accept the efforts of all and keep us safe during the holiday season, Ameen.
