Nasihah (Advice): The mercy of Allah upon a mother
Sayyiduna Anas Bin Maalik Radhiyallahu Anhu reports: ‘A woman came to ‘A’isha Radhiyallahu Anha and ‘A’isha Radhiyallahu Anha gave her three dates. She gave each of her two children a date and kept one date for herself. The children ate the two dates and then looked at their mother. She took her date and split it into two and gave each child half of it. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam returned and ‘A’isha Radhiyallahu Anha told him about it. He said, “Are you surprised at that? Allah will show her mercy because of her mercy towards her child.” (Al Adabul Mufrad)

Question and Answer:
- A man issued one divorce to his wife whilst she was pregnant. Then he issued a second divorce to her whilst she was pregnant. How long is her Iddah period? Is it a total of 6 Months, 3 Months for the first divorce and another 3 Months for the second divorce?
(Question published as received)
- If a husband has issued one, two or three Talaaqs to his wife whilst she was pregnant, the waiting (Iddah) period of the woman ends upon the birth of the child irrespective of whether the pregnancy period is a short or a long period.
The number of Talaaqs issued during the waiting period does not have any bearing in regards to the length of the waiting period. (Tuhfatul Fuqahaa 2/243)
