Despite Hamas having agreed to a ceasefire proposal set out by Egypt and Qatar over 10 days ago, Israel has still not responded, creating further uncertainty for the future of Gaza amid widespread suffering and death in the besieged strip.
Earlier this month, Egypt and Qatar mediated ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel, hoping to end the war after countless failed attempts.
Despite Hamas having agreed to the most recent ceasefire proposal, terrorist Israel has still not responded and seems “unwilling to reach an agreement”, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson of Qatar said.
The war in Gaza has now killed over 62,000 Palestinians, and Qatari officials are continuing to call on the international community to put pressure on Israel to accept the most recent ceasefire proposal.
“We are in contact with all parties in pursuit of a ceasefire agreement, but there is no official Israeli response – neither acceptance, rejection, nor the presentation of an alternative proposal,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said on Tuesday.
Despite various speculative media statements from Israeli media, al-Ansari said that they will not be taking them seriously, and are still awaiting an official response.
Hamas, the armed group which rules over the Gaza Strip, has informed the negotiators of Egypt and Qatar that it is ready to resume negotiations to end Israel’s war on Gaza, which has now escalated into an meticulously planned starvation.
More than half a million people are trapped in a famine, with UN organisations like WFP officially confirming that a famine is unfolding.
In the last 24 hours, Gaza’s Ministry of Health has recorded four deaths “due to famine and malnutrition”.
This included two children, totalling the number of hunger-related deaths to 317, including 121 children. Despite this, Israel continues to deny that a famine is taking place.

Suspected terms of the recent ceasefire
Insider sources close with Al Jazeera said that the most recent proposal included a complete halt of Israeli military operations for 60 days, allowing the entry of humanitarian aid, and exchanging half of the remaining 50 captives for Palestinian detainees.
“What Hamas agreed to is identical to what Israel had already agreed to. The ball is now in Israel’s court, and it seems Israel does not want to reach an agreement or even respond to the proposal,” said Doha based Al Jazeera journalist Osmma Bin Javaid.
The only response Qatar has seen from Israel has been “more deaths, more destruction, more plans to take over more territory in Gaza, but no real move towards trying to find a solution … and stopping the killing” said Javaid.
Israel has shown no sign of stopping it’s killings and military operations.
Just yesterday, they killed six Syrian troops via airstrikes around the capital of Damascus.
Last week, five prominent journalists from outlets such as Al Jazeera, Reuters, and Middle East Eye were killed when Israel bombed the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, Gaza.
And since yesterday, 32 Palestinians were killed when Israel terrorists struck a tent of displaced Palestinians and aid seekers.
At this moment in time, Israel is showing no intention of ending it’s war in Gaza, with evidence that they are ramping up military excursions in the wider region.
