Nasihah (Advice): Surah Mulk – The Intercessor
Sayyiduna Anas Ibn Maalik radiyallahu anhu reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘A Surah of the Quran, that consists of merely thirty verses will intercede on behalf of one who recites it until he is admitted into Jannah, it is Surah Mulk.’ [Al Mu’jamul Awsat]

Question and Answer:
Q. I heard that it is recommended to read Sura Mulk at night before going to sleep. Can one read it just after the Maghrib prayer?
(Question published as received)
A. The Hadith regarding the virtue of Surah Mulk to be recited at night is as follows:
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “Whosoever recites Tabaarakallazi (Surah Mulk) every night, it will be a means for his salvation from the punishment of the grave”. (Sunan Al Kubra – Nasaa’ee #10479)
Islamically, night begins at sunset. Hence, one may recite it from after Maghrib onwards and not specifically before going to sleep.
