By the Grace of Allah Ta’ala, the Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. relief team once again had the pleasure of serving the community of Amaoti, which is one of the largest informal settlements in Inanda, Durban. The area covers approximately 700ha with poor housing, sanitation, and infrastructure of which a vast majority of the community is unemployed.
The PROJECT H.E.L.P. team assisted the community at the Entokozweni Community Care & Welfare Centre, which serves the needs of the elderly, orphans, vulnerable children, as well as the broader community.
On Wednesday, 6th December 2017 the team fed over 60 primary school going children that are part of the Centre’s aftercare program. Each child was presented with their own ‘Honchos’ jumbo burger meal pack, a 300ml cool drink and a sweet gift hamper packed in a sports shoe bag. The children were excited over their meals and ecstatic when receiving their gift hampers. Before the feeding took place, a brief introduction (Dawah) to Islam was presented to the children.
The following Wednesday, 13th December 2017 the team distributed over 200 large food hampers, bottled water and fruit to the aged of the community at the centre and to outpatients at the Amaoti clinic across from the centre. The food hampers were packed in a reusable 20L bucket. Whilst the senior citizens were gathered in the hall, a brief introduction (Dawah) to Islam was also presented to them.
May Allah Ta’ala use our humble efforts as a means of attracting them towards Islam and may He accept the contributions of our donors and the efforts of all involved, Aameen.
