Empangeni Jumuah Masjid, Kwa Zulu Natal

Empangeni is a town along the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, approximately 157km from Durban and a mere 16km from the major harbour town of Richards Bay.

Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah Ta’ala, the initial foundation of the Empangeni Jumuah Masjid was laid by Hajee Bhai Padia (Rahimahullah). The Masjid was thereafter opened in the year 1998 by Moulana Abdul Hameed Ishaaq Saheb (Principal of Darul Uloom, Azaadville). The Masjid was the first Masjid built in Empangeni and one of the earliest in the Zululand region.

Some of the previous Imaams include Moulana Afzal Yusuf, Moulana Bilal Kathrada and Moulana Ayoub Rawat. The current Imaams are Moulana Sulaiman Kadir and Moulana Muhammad Noorgat.

On average, the Masjid receives 70 Musallees for the five daily Salaah and approximately 400 for Jumuah Salaah.

On its premises, the Masjid has a Madrasah/Maktab, Hifz Classes, Ghusl Khana and also conducts Taleem as well as programmes by various Ulama.

May Allah Ta’ala protect this Masjid and every Masjid across the globe, Ameen.
