Is Wudhu a requirement to touch a Cellphone with the Qur’an installed?

Question:


Mobile phones here in Gulf are nowadays coming equipped with Qur’an for reading (in software applications), is it required that we need to be with Wudhu to handle the mobile? Or we should delete the application?

Answer:


Wudhu is not a requirement for touching the handheld. However, one should avoid touching the screen with one’s bare hands/fingers when the text of the Qur’an is being displayed
