This will be a real test for the new Egyptian government of President Mohamed Mursi as well as for the government of Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan in Turkey.

As the Zionist killing machine continued its murderous attacks on defenceless Palestinians in Gaza, the UN Security Council held a meaningless meeting to discuss the crisis.
The meeting was convened at the request of Egypt to bring a halt to Israeli attacks. Nothing could be expected from it since the US is determined to prevent any criticism of its illegitimate child in the Middle East.
The Security Council meeting ended without even issuing a statement except to say it had met. By Wednesday morning (November 15), 15 Palestinians, among them three children had been murdered by the Zionists in a 24 hour period.
As the day progressed, other children were killed. In one instant, a pregnant woman with twins and three other children, two infants and an 11-month old boy, Ahmed, were killed. As this blog was being written, news came of four more people being killed, one of them a two-year-old boy.
The Zionist warmongers admitted to hitting 156 targets inside Gaza. While they habitually lie about hitting military targets—what military targets when Hamas has no army, navy or air force—the victims are always civilians. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a compulsive liar, was speaking at a press conference during the compilation of this report and again peddled the lie that Israel is very careful “not to target civilians.” One wonders how all these civilians got killed? He also thanked the American and French presidents, as well as Tony Blair for showing “support” for Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.
The assassination of Hamas military chief Ahmed al-Jabari was not only a crime but it was part of the Zionists’ deliberately deceptive way of dealing with others. Israeli peace activist Gershon Baskin told Haaretz newspaper (November 15) that he was in contact with Jabari and had worked out a truce agreement with him. Baskin confirmed that Jabari was killed a few hours AFTER a permanent truce agreement had been worked out. Baskin also said that senior officials in Israel knew about his contacts with Hamas and Egyptian intelligence aimed at formulating the permanent truce, but nevertheless approved the assassination. He had helped mediate between Israel and Hamas in the deal to release Gilad Shalit.
It is likely that Israel’s internal security agency, Shin Bet was following Baskin and unknown to him, used him as a bait to expose Jabari who had kept out of the limelight all these years. Even as the Israeli murder machine continued bombing and killing innocent civilians in Gaza, US ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, who is hoping to be nominated for the post of Secretary of State, opened her big guns against the Palestinians. She shamelessly repeated the now worn-out phrase, “Israel has the right to defend itself.” This nonsensical piece of propaganda is uttered whenever Zionist Israel perpetrates crimes against innocent civilians in Palestine.
In the US, State and Pentagon officials peddled the same line as did a spokesman for Canadian Foreign Minister in Ottawa. Israel has the right to defend itself but Palestinians have no rights because they are considered less than humans, as far as this logic goes.
While the cowardly Arab rulers have either remained silent or issued tepid statements to protect their hides, the masses in the Arab world have been enraged by the latest Zionist crimes. In the streets of Cairo, people chanted, “Shame on you Arab rulers,” and “We stand with our brothers in Gaza.” There were also demands for Egypt to cut off diplomatic relations with the Zionist entity.
This will be a real test for the new Egyptian government of President Mohamed Mursi as well as for the government of Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan in Turkey. It would be unrealistic to hold out much hope. Hot rhetoric is all that we are likely to hear as the people of Gaza continue to be slaughtered by the biggest war machine in the Middle East.
