Jamiatul Ulama KZN Youth Day Report

Alhamdullilah, on Saturday 19th October 2019, the Jamiatul Ulama KZN organised a Boys Youth Day camp at Sunset Ridge Farm in Camperdown. Youth from various parts of Durban attended with the number of boys reaching almost 60 in total.

Upon arrival at the farm, Moulana Abdullah Paruk from the Jamiatul Ulama KZN addressed the youth on the Sunnah of Archery, Horse Riding, the importance of keeping fit and having the correct intention. The youth were excited and exuberant with the line-up of activities planned for the day, which included:

  • Horse Riding
  • Archery
  • Paint Ball
  • Quad Bike Riding
  • Human FoozBall
  • Farm Olympics
  • Obstacle Course

After Zuhr Salaah, lunch was served. Thereafter, Moulana Ilyaas Desai addressed the youth on the significance of staying steadfast on Deen, peer pressure, keeping good company and most importantly, respect to parents.

Thereafter the rest of the day’s activities continued as planned. At the end of the day’s activities, Naseeha (advices) was given by Moulana Ridwaan Bayat on the challenges affecting the youth in this day and how to overcome them. Alhamdullilah, it was a day well appreciated by both the youth and parents.

The Jamiatul Ulama KZN would like to thank the management and staff of Sunset Ridge Farm and Roller Coaster Bus Services for their outstanding services. May Allah Ta’ala accept the efforts and contribution made by donors and Ulama who made the day a success and make it a means of guiding and uniting the Youth of the Ummah. Ameen.

Below is a comment received by a parent of one of the boys who attended:

‘I would like to take the time to say Jazakallahu khairun to all that we involved in arranging the Boys Youth Camp.

Alhumdulillah, it was such a successful and well planned outing. My son really enjoyed the trip, it is pleasing to know that parents can send their children on an outdoor trip that was so well coordinated and supervised. Masha Allah it’s with initiatives like this that we can encourage our youth to participate and keep up the brotherhood. Parents had an absolute peace of mind knowing every step of the way was guided by respected Ulama.

I encourage you to have more outings of this nature in the future. May Allah reward you all abundantly for your efforts.’

N.B. Unfortunately due to limited spaces, many boys who were eager to join us were unable to do so. For this reason the Jamiat plans to host another such program in the near future, Insha Allah (date to be announced).
