Project H.E.L.P – Wheelchair Drive & Feeding Report

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira Radhiyallahu Anhu reported that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said, “One who strives to help the widows or the poor is like one who strives in the cause of Allah, or one who prays at night and fasts during the day. (Sahih Bukhari)

WHEELCHAIR DRIVE

As the 2nd wave of Covid restrictions ease and life slowly returns to normal, many elderly, underprivileged and infirm people are still struggling to purchase basic necessities, diapers and staple food items. To this affect, the Jamiatul Ulama KZN Project H.E.L.P department received a request for a wheelchair and diapers for three families in the Chatsworth area.

Alhamdulillah, on Wednesday 10th February, the Project HE.L.P Team visited the area to distribute diapers, food hampers and a wheelchair to three destitute elderly and ailing families. The recipients, who were over 80 years old and bedridden, warmly welcomed the team and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the assistance rendered.

FEEDING PROGRAMME

On Thursday 18th February 2021, the Jamiatul Ulama KZN initiated a weekly feeding programme for the underprivileged residents of Effingham. Alhamdullilah, 300 hot meals and bottled water was distributed with the assistance of volunteers. Meals were also given to the learners at the local Maktab.

May Allah Tala accept the efforts made by volunteers who assisted in making the distribution easier and make it a means of guidance for the recipients who were so appreciative, Ameen.

We express our gratitude to Almighty Allah Ta’ala for affording us the opportunity in serving His creation, as well as our donors for their generous contributions.

Persons who wish to participate as volunteers in such social outreach projects can contact the Jamiatul Ulama KZN offices on 031 2077 099 or email projects@jamiat.org.za to be added on our WhatsApp volunteer database.
