Sajdah Tilaawah from a recording?


Nasihah (Advice): The example of a person who neglects practicing on his own advice:

Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abdillah (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that the Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “A person who advises others to do good but neglects being good himself is like a person who lights a lamp for the benefit of people but burns himself in the process” (Tabrani, Hadith #: 1681)


Q. Pls advise if you hear an ayaat of Sajda e tilawat on radio or tape recorder

Is it waajib to make sajda for that

A. No. Sajdah Tilawah does not become compulsory by listening to a pre-recorded recitation of the Qur’an. (Ahsanul Fatawa)
