When should one recite the Duas of the toilet

  Nasihah (Advice):  

Dua when entering and leaving the toilet  

Sayyiduna Anas Radhiyallahu Anhu reports that when Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallamwould enter the toilet, he would say:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ“O Allah! I seek refuge in You from male and female devils.”(Tirmidhi)

When Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam would exit the toilet, he would say:   غُفْرَانَكَ “Oh Allah! We seek your forgiveness.” (Abu Dawood)

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنِّي الْأَذَى وَعَافَانِي“All Praise is to Allah Who has relieved me of impurity and given me good health.”

(Ibn Majah)

Q. When should one recite the Dua when entering and leaving the toilet? Before or after entering and leaving the toilet?

A. The Dua when entering the toilet is recited before entering toilet and the Dua when leaving the toilet is recited after leaving the toilet. The Duas should not be recited inside the toilet. (Shaami 1/345)
